Former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh and the father of renowned cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has recently stirred controversy by criticizing MS Dhoni, he accused the former captain of undermining his son’s cricket career. He has attacked MS Dhoni time and again.
‘My Father Has Mental Issues’, Says Yuvraj Singh
Yograj’s accusations showcase that Dhoni’s influence played a role in shortening the span of Yuvraj’s career, despite his key performances for India, notably in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup, both under Dhoni’s leadership. Following Yograj’s recent comments, a video of Yuvraj has gone viral where the World Cup-winning cricketer mentions that his father has “mental issues.” Yuvraj, a hero of India’s 2011 World Cup triumph, expressed concern about his father’s ongoing claims, noting during a podcast that his father is struggling with “mental issues” and is in denial about it, signaling his unease with Yograj’s repeated accusations.

Yograj Singh Targets MS Dhoni
The cricketing career of Yuvraj Singh stretched on for 17 years and, during this time, he had some remarkable moments: being an integral part of the Indian team in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup. Beyond 2014, however, he gradually slipped into obscurity within the national team, and his last international outing was against the West Indies in 2017. Yograj Singh blames MS Dhoni for this decline and says,
“Dhoni, over the past few years, has utilized all his clout with the selectors to restrict Yuvi’s career.”
In a recent interview on the Zee Switch YouTube channel, Yograj expressed his deep resentment towards Dhoni, stating: “I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son can nevar be forgiven in life. I have never forgiven anyone who has wronged me, and I never will, even if they are family.”
“That man (MS Dhoni) destroyed my son’s career, which could have lasted four to five more years.”
Yuvraj Singh is considered one of the most iconic cricketers of India. His career has been an extraordinary one in which he chalked up nearly 12,000 runs, with 17 centuries in 402 matches in different formats. At the 2011 World Cup alone, with a total of 362 runs at an average of 90.50, besides snatching 15 wickets, earned him the honor of the Player of the Tournament award for his outstanding display in the tournament as an all-rounder.
