Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, known for his middle-order batting and pace bowling, is eager to make a significant impact in the upcoming five-match Test series against India later this year. Green expressed his readiness to contribute extensively, stating,

“I’m very happy to contribute as much as I can. Physically I’m in a really good place to be able to do that,” the 25-year-old told cricket.com.au.

With the series scheduled to span five Tests over six weeks, captain Pat Cummins has indicated his desire for Green and fellow all-rounder Mitchell Marsh to play crucial roles throughout the matches. He clearly mentioned that the Australian side will be relying more on these two.

“We’ll be drawing on Cam Green and Mitch Marsh a bit more. Cummins would say speaking to reporters in Sydney. “Even someone like Cam Green started in (Sheffield) Shield cricket as a bowler, but hasn’t had to bowl heaps in test matches,” he added.

Green humorously referred to the overs between 70 and 80 as “graveyard overs,” a period when the ball tends not to seam or swing. Traditionally, after the 80th over, teams can switch to a new ball, leading captains to often rest their main seamers and deploy alternative options during this phase.

“We always laugh and joke between me and Mitch (Marsh) about who bowls those graveyard overs between the 70th and the 80th overs when the ball is not doing anything. We’ll wait and see how we do it this summer,” Green said.

“But now my body’s in a really good place where I feel like I can contribute with bowling. Down the track, it’s an option but at the moment I’m very happy to be a genuine all-rounder,” added Green who had made his Test debut against India in the 2020-21 home series.

“Having an extended break (from white-ball cricket) before a Test tour, it’s going to help for sure. I really enjoyed doing it last year and there’s potentially a chance to do it again this year,” he further said.

Adam Gilchrist Warns Australia

Legendary Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist warned the Aussies ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where Australia will face India in a five-match Test series. Gilchrist, a member of the last Australian team to secure the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India back in 2004, emphasized that the pressure will be on the hosts. Although Australia enters the series as the reigning World Test Championship (WTC) champions, they must remain vigilant against an Indian side that has defeated them in their previous two tours to Australia.

“The onus is on Australia to prove they are the dominant force at home. India know how to go away and win overseas,” said Gilchrist, speaking to The Times of India

“Naturally, I’m going to say Australia, hope they get there. But it’s too close to call. It will be a close tussle,” Gilchrist said.

Border-Gavaskar Trophy (India tour of Australia) Schedule:

1st Test: 22nd Nov to 26th Nov, Perth

2nd Test: 6th Dec to 10th Dec, Adelaide

3rd Test: 14th Dec to 18th Dec, Brisbane

4th Test: 26th Dec to 30th Dec, Melbourne

5th Test: 3rd Jan to 7th Jan, Sydney

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
