New Delhi: A case of suicide has come to light from Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Here when the lover denied the woman for marriage, she committed suicide. It was claimed that the girl became pregnant but the man made her abort.
At the Gram Panchayat it was revealed that the man initially agreed to the marriage. However, demands for dowry were raised after that. The girl was disappointed and she committed suicide by hanging herself on the tree at the back of her house.
The woman had to abort her baby
A love affair was ongoing between young man and woman living in the Jafarganj Police Station area of Fatehpur. Meanwhile, the girlfriend became pregnant. The lover along with some people of the village got the pregnancy aborted.
When the family members of the girl became aware of this they got furious. They called the gram panchayat in the village to discuss the crime.
Boyfriend’s family demanded dowry
The man’s family affirmed to the marriage at the Panchayat. But after some time they started demanding a motorcycle and Rs 1.5 lacs as dowry. The woman’s family said they were not capable of meeting their demands as it was beyond their capabilities.
Boyfriend’s family denied marriage
The man’s family later denied from the marriage. The woman was highly disappointed and she hanged herself from a tree using her ‘dupatta’. The suicide occurred right behind the woman’s house.
Further investigation is underway
The police arrived at the spot when they received information regarding a suicide. The police officials took the body into custody. They then sent it for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway.
