Arthur Ashe Stadium saw a celebrity-packed audience on Tuesday evening, with ex-India captain MS Dhoni part of the crowd present for Novak Djokovic’s US Open 2025 quarterfinal match against Taylor Fritz. The Serbian leader played against Fritz in four sets – 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 – to reach the semifinals.
Dhoni, was spotted at the second men’s singles quarterfinal in New York. Businessman Hitesh Sanghvi posted a photo with Dhoni along with a brief video of the Djokovic match on Instagram.

Even reducing his schedule this season, the 38-year-old Djokovic has maintained his incredible consistency, reaching at least the semifinals in all four grand slams. His next adversary will be Carlos Alcaraz – a top player he beat in last year’s Paris Olympics final and once more in the Australian Open quarterfinal this year. Djokovic leads their head-to-head currently 5-3. Alcaraz, who is just 22, has reached nine Grand Slam semifinals now, something achieved before his 23rd birthday only by Rafael Nadal, who achieved 10.
In India, Dhoni has also made headlines after a past interview of Irfan Pathan went viral, in which the previous all-rounder addressed the communication gap he had in relation to not being included in the national team.
