Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel expressed his belief that Rohit Sharma has exhibited superior captaincy skills in high-pressure Indian Premier League (IPL) matches compared to MS Dhoni. Patel suggested that Rohit has demonstrated more adept decision-making abilities than Dhoni in crucial situations throughout the competitive tournament. Both Dhoni and Rohit are renowned as highly successful IPL captains, having secured five IPL titles each for their respective teams – Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
“When there’s a tense match, sometimes wrong decisions or blunders are made. But the hallmark of Rohit Sharma’s captaincy is that in the last 10 years, you don’t remember that he made a blunder” Parthiv told JioCinema.
Parthiv’s Big Remark On MS Dhoni
Patel further emphasized that despite Dhoni’s significant achievements, there have been occasions where his decisions have not yielded favorable results for the Super Kings.
“Dhoni has made blunders like giving Pawan Negi an over, but if you see Rohit, you’ll never see a blunder. Keeping the process simple is something that Dhoni advises but we see Rohit practice that in games,” Parthiv added.
Drawing from his firsthand experience of playing under the leadership of both MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma for Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians respectively, Parthiv Patel provided his perspective. Patel was part of the IPL-winning squad of CSK in 2010 and also contributed to Rohit’s MI team that claimed IPL titles in 2015 and 2017.
