New Delhi: The former captain of Team India, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) is celebrating his 42nd birthday today. The veteran star has contributed a lot to taking Indian cricket to the pinnacle. India has won three ICC titles under Dhoni’s captaincy.
Former Team India player Wasim Jaffer made a big disclosure about captain cool. Jaffer said that when Dhoni joined the new team, he wanted to earn only Rs 30 lakh.

Wasim Jaffer made a big disclosure about MS Dhoni. He said, ‘I made my comeback in 2005 and MS Dhoni got his place in the Indian team in late 2004. Me, my wife, Dinesh Karthik and his wife, and Dhoni, all used to sit in the back seat. MS Dhoni used to talk a lot with my wife. He used to say that he had to earn 30 lakhs so that he could lead a comfortable life in Ranchi.
According to Wasif Jaffer, MS Dhoni did not want to leave Ranchi. Dhoni said to his sister-in-law, “whatever happens, I will not leave Ranchi.”
“Dhoni was new to the team, so he felt that Rs 30 lakh would be a lot for him. I remember he told my wife that sister-in-law I have to make 30 lakh rupees,” Jaffer recalled.
Achievement of MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni is the only captain to have won all the three major ICC trophies. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, the Indian team won the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Dhoni has scored 22384 runs for India in all three formats. He has also taken one wicket in ODIs.
