Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir has been facing a lot of criticism ever since Team India lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia by a margin of 1-3. Gambhir who took over the reigns of the Indian cricket team by replacing Rahul Dravid, has been through a lot of ups and downs in his short span of five months with Team India. From losing the ODI series in Sri Lanka, to 3-0 loss against New Zealand in the home Test series and now the BGT debacle, these have been some rare instances that the India national cricket team has hardly seen in the past decade.
Nitish Rana Hits Back At Gautam Gambhir Critics
Criticism should be based on facts not personal insecurities. Gauti bhaiyya is one of the most selfless players I’ve ever met. He shoulders responsibility in times of distress like no other. Performance doesn’t need any PR. The trophies speak for themselves.

Amidst all the criticisms, Indian cricketer and RR batter Nitish Rana has hit back at the critics who are constantly trolling Gautam Gambhir. Rana shared a post on his official ‘X’ handle and stated that performance doesn’t need any PR. Rana mentioned that he has never seen such as selfless person like GG in his whole life. The post read, “Criticism should be based on facts not personal insecurities. Gauti bhaiyya is one of the most selfless players I’ve ever met. He shoulders responsibility in times of distress like no other. Performance doesn’t need any PR. The trophies speak for themselves.”
There were certain reports that Gautam Gambhir wasn’t BCCI’s first choice as the Indian head coach post debacle in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Apart from all these, news of leaked conversations from the dressing room also made headlines. There were allegations that GG forced Rohit Sharma to opt-out from the fifth Test against Australia, however, it was simply denied by Rohit and he stated that it was his decision.
