Morne Morkel has officially joined as the new bowling coach for Team India, ahead of their Test series against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start from September 19.

Mhambrey was part of the support staff under the leadership of Rahul Dravid, while Bahutule took over the responsiblity as interim coach at the beginning of Gambhir’s tenure.
Morne Morkel has had a prolific 12-year international career with South Africa between 2006 and 2018. H has played 247 matches and picked up 544 wickets.

Gautam Gambir And Morne Morkel In The Coaching Staff
Morkel and Gambhir have collaborated and worked together a number of times in the past, most notably at Lucknow Super Giants, an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise for the 2022 and 2023 IPL seasons. They were also together in the same team when Gautam Gambhir was the skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders.
Now the duo will be working together in the Indian Team and the vast experience they bring will be extremely beneficial for Team India.

“I like a bit of Puri. For breakfast, I obviously love my dosas. Murgh Malai, chicken, and Naan breads but I think it’s also important as a coach that you need to eat healthy and the rest of the players will follow.” Morkel says in a video posted by BCCI
IND Vs BAN: A 1st Assignment For Morkel
Outside his IPL stint, Morkel has recently completed his duties as bowling coach of Pakistan, including the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, as part of his international coaching experience.

India’s home series against Bangladesh, consisting of two Test matches and three T20Is, will be Morkel’s first assignment as bowling coach of India.
The series holds immense significance with regard to the World Test Championship standings, as India tops the table with 68.52 point percentage, while Bangladesh currently sits at the fourth spot after posting a really strong performance against Pakistan.
The Test series kicks off on September 19, while the T20Is are lined up starting from October 6.
