India has raised a firm stance and objection in the Asian Cricket Council meeting which was held on September 30, Tuesday. The Indian representatives strongly objected the ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi for running away with India’s well-deserved trophy.
In the Asia Cup final, India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets but refused to take trophy from Mohsin Naqvi. The ACC chairman was seen waiting at the stage not no one from the Indian contingent agreed to receive the trophy from him. The Indian team was seen waiting for their trophy on ground, but Mohsin Naqvi disgracefully took away the trophy.
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla attended the ACC meeting and BCCI asked tough questions from Naqvi. Shukla reminded him that the trophy was not Naqvi’s personal property. When the BCCI representative started to ask firm questions, Naqvi dodged the topic and said it will be discussed on a different platform and not in the meeting.
In the meeting Naqvi refused to congratulate India but he was finally forced to do that by BCCI representative Ashish Shelar. The BCCI has made it crystal clear that the trophy belongs to them and it should be immediately handed over. But Naqvi wasn’t moved a bit, he still hasn’t agreed to give back the trophy to India which has left BCCI furious. Now the BCCI will file an official complaint to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
