Mohammed Shami’s Comeback On Hold! Bengal Faces Challenges Without Star Bowler In Upcoming Ranji Trophy Matches

Mohammed Shami continues recovery from an ankle injury, missing Ranji Trophy matches as Bengal adjusts with veteran Anustup Majumdar leading.

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami has so far been a spectator with his ankle injury keeping him out of action pretty much since November last year. Yet, Shami appears to be just fine, bowling at "100%, with positive results for it".
Shami has not been named for the games from Bengal against Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. In his absence veteran batter Anustup Majumdar will once again be skipper. Abhimanyu Easwaran is away playing for India A in a series against Australia A in Australia.

Changes In Team

Abhimanyu Easwaran's absence affects the team because other state players, like Abishek Porel and Mukesh Kumar, are a part of the same tour. Surprisingly, Akash Deep, who was not featured in the Ranji Trophy this season since he was busy with the India Test side, is not also in the current squad.

This shows the evolving scenarios of the Bengal side where they cope with missing and injured players.
