Ace Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah equaled Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney’s record during the recent Premier League clash against Manchester City. Salah scored and assisted against the struggling Premier League champions which helped them achieve a 2-0 victory. This stretched the points gap between both the teams to 11 whereas Liverpool continued their seven-match winning streak. Apart from guiding his side to an exceptional win, Mohamed Salah also broke Premier League legend Wayne Rooney’s all-time record.
Mohamed Salah has scored 11 goals and seven assists for Liverpool as of now in the current edition of the English Premier League. Salah levelled Wayne Rooney’s record for goals and assists in most EPL matches. Apart from registering a brilliant record, it doesn’t look like things are good between Liverpool management and Mohamed Salah. There were rumours that Salah is unhappy with his current contract and might exit the club very soon. While speaking after the match, the Egyptian striker hinted of his Anfield exit as even after 19 games, the club hasn’t started any contract extension talks with him.
He said while speaking to Sky Sports, “Honestly, it’s in my head. Until now this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool so I was just going to enjoy it. The atmosphere was incredible so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully, we just win the league and will see what will happen. “Well, we are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club, so, I’m probably more out than in. You know now I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this.“
“But in the end, it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future. I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end, it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see. Of course [no offer is disappointing], yeah“, He added.
Liverpool are at the top of both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League points table and are having a dream run since Arne Slot has taken over reigns of the club. Mohamed Salah has given a lot services to Anfield and the management may initiate some talks to avoid his exit from the club.
