A shocker of the performance came from the batters of Team India on the shores of M Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bengaluru as the cricketing nation suffered to only 46 runs in the first innings, the lowest-ever score made by India on its home turf against New Zealand, and the news brought much criticism.
Worst Batting Performance
Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja never even reached the run board, and the highest score managed by Rishabh Pant was only 20 runs when he himself made a rather poor choice as the captain Rohit Sharma decided to bat first after winning the toss. He was left on just 2 runs and the bowling unit went on to capitalize on this crisis when five players failed to open their account, and the batting line crumbled soon.

Vaughan’s Critique
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan was not the one to hold back after this Indian batting collapse as he took over to Twitter and had the mirth at it. He tweeted, “Indian fans, try and see a good thing in this. At least you have managed to cross 36 runs,” referring to India’s infamous 36 all-out against Australia in 2020.
Look on the bright side Indian fans .. at least you have got past 36 .. 😜😜

Record Low Scores
It is an abysmal performance that overshadows the previous low of 62 runs India had against New Zealand in 2021. This will be the third-lowest Indian Test score in the history of the team. Only two Indians reached double figures, while New Zealand was taken over by the bowlers who almost completely strangled the batting order with Matt Henry taking five wickets and William O’Rourke four.
Innings Break!#TeamIndia all out for 46.
