The second qualifier game of IPL 2025 is between the Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians. It was a bad start for Mumbai, who had to bat first after losing the toss. Rohit Sharma, who scored many runs in the eliminator match, was out after only 8 runs. Punjab designed a plan with Shreyas Iyer to dismiss the Hitman, and it worked wonderfully. Rohit got trapped and fell early.

Rohit couldn’t stay at the crease for very long
Because of his impressive knocks in both the eliminator and the first qualifier, Mumbai Indians supporters were looking forward to another big knock from Rohit Sharma. Although Rohit faced only 7 balls and scored 8 runs before being run out. The plan of Shreyas Iyer using an Asscam should have worked like a dream against Rohit, but somehow the brilliant Hitman managed to survive. Iyer gave the scoring responsibility to Marcus Stoinis during the powerplay itself. Iyer succeeded in getting Rohit out by getting him run out. Rohit fell when he tried to score big off Stoinis on the second ball of the third over, allowing the catch to be an easy one. Stoinis pushed Rohit to play a pull shot and his aim for a six ended up in his loss.
Changes in Both Teams
There have been one change each in the playing elevens of Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians for the second qualifier. Yuzvendra Chahal has rejoined the players in Punjab. His injury is behind him and you should expect Chahal to put the Mumbai batsmen under pressure in this match. There is a change in the Mumbai playing 11 for this match. Reece Topley has come into the final team in place of the injured Gleeson.
