In the IPL 2025 match 45, Mumbai Indians faced Lucknow Super Giants at the cricket field. Rishabh Pant chose to start the match by conducting the team bowling after winning the toss. During the innings period Mumbai Indians scored 215 runs in 20 overs through their effective gameplay. The Lucknow Super Giants team fell short of reaching the large target and eventually suffered a 54-run defeat. Due to the loss Captain Pant pointed out exactly when his team lost control over the match.
Captain Pant said a big thing about the bowlers
After losing against Mumbai Indians in a one-sided match, captain Rishabh Pant has made a big statement about the bowlers. Explaining the reason for the defeat in the post-match presentation ceremony, Rishabh Pant said, “We feel that bowling first was the right decision for us as a team, because we rely on our batting most of the time. Yes bowlers, we want to give them the best conditions, but today was not our day. The other team is playing good cricket, you should give them credit instead of just questioning yourself.”
Speaking on the second consecutive defeat, captain Pant said, “As a team, there is a decline, but we can understand it because we got a break at the right time. Keeping it very simple, not thinking too much about it. In a season like this, where things are not going your way, you will start questioning yourself as a player but that is not something you want to do.”
Captain Pant spoke on the return of Mayank Yadav
Fast bowler Mayank Yadav made a comeback in this match. Talking about which captain Rishabh Pant said, “When the team is performing well, you have to think about it. It is a team game. Every time if you leave out one player, I think it is not right to do so. It was definitely good to see Mayank coming back from injury. In the first match, he is gaining rhythm, you can see it. Hopefully he will be better next time.”
