Newly appointed captain MS Dhoni also praised the young debutant after the match.

“I think as a youngster he batted really well, and that’s the kind of approach that is needed where you play your shots and at the same time you pick your shots that is your strength and I feel right from the start, he went and played his shots and we also haven’t seen him much. So, it is a good sign for us at the top of the order that if he can keep playing the shots, it will become slightly easier for the middle and lower order.” MS Dhoni said.

The bowler known as Mhatre maintains an average of 65.42 through his 7 List A matches while scoring 458 runs. The former has also reached the milestone of scoring two hundreds when he accumulated 458 runs in 7 List A matches. During List A cricket Ayush achieved 133.50 strikeouts as his personal best. The First-Class competition has awarded him 9 matches for participation. During his performance Ayush managed to score 504 runs while hitting one century. The opportunity to deliver over the set can come up for Ayush should he receive the invitation. Future pundits recognize him as the rising star due to his bowling skills.

Debuted in the IPL

The CSK franchise introduced Ayush Mhatre to their playing lineup directly after he became part of the team. The selection committee made Ayush Mhatre the replacement choice to fill the spot previously occupied by Rahul Tripathi who demonstrated inadequate batting performance. The first game of his debut career saw Ayush score 32 runs from his 15 balls. Which included 4 fours and 2 sixes. Ayush struck his first IPL four as the second delivery he faced during his debut match. He managed to hit two sixes during his third and fourth deliveries in the match. The magnificent performance of this innings indicates he could stay in the league for multiple years.
