New Delhi: The Commonwealth Games have started from today. Indian Women’s cricket team is playing its first match against Australia. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and decided to bat first. Meghna Singh will be making her T20 debut in this match for India. Meghna is an all rounder. She is a right-handed batter and a right arm medium fast bowler.
Test and ODI debut done in 2021
Meghna made her Test debut for India against Australia in 2021. She took 2 wickets in the first innings of this match but the match ended in a draw. On September 21, 2021, she also made her ODI debut against Australia.
She has since then been included in the 18-member Indian women’s squad for the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup which will be held in New Zealand.
Father is a security guard at a sugar mill
Meghna Singh hails from UP. She was born on June 18, 1994 in a small village of Bijnor in Kotwali Dehat. Her father works as a security guard in a sugar mill. Her mother works with the Anganwadi. It is said that in childhood, she improved her skills by playing in the team of boys of the locality.
Used to travel 25 kms every day
Meghna has always been passionate about cricket. She used to travel 25 kilometers every day for cricket coaching to the Nehru Stadium in Bijnor for training. He is working as Railway Booking Clerk in Moradabad.

Meghna has played 14 ODIs so far, in which she took a total of 14 wickets. She has also taken 2 wickets in a single test match she played. Her economy rate is 4.98 in ODIs, while it is 3.14 in Tests.
