Virat Kohli Fined: As soon as the first day of the Melbourne Test ended, the ICC imposed a huge fine on legendary batter Virat Kohli. Actually, Virat had hit Australian opener Sam Konstas. After this incident, the ICC deducted 20 percent of Virat’s match fee and he has been found guilty of Level 1. Virat has also accepted his mistake after the first day’s play ended, due to which there will be no need for further hearing on the matter.

Incident Scenario
During the break between the 10th and 11th overs of the Australian innings, when Konstas and Usman Khawaja were changing ends, Kohli moved towards Konstas and hit him on the shoulder. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who was commentating at that time, also believed that Kohli did this intentionally. On the other hand, former Indian player and coach Ravi Shastri called the action of Virat completely unnecessary.

Kohli Was Found Guilty Of Level One
Let us tell you that Virat has been found guilty of Level One and hence his match fee has been deducted. If it was a Level Two offense, the Indian batter would have got three or four demerit points. Four points are enough to suspend a player for the next match. It is clear from this that Virat will be seen playing in the fifth match to be held in Sydney.
Konstas Wording On The Incident
After this incident, Kangaroo opener Konstas spoke about this during the drinks break in the morning session and said that he would like to keep this incident inside the field, but he has no objection in competing fiercely against the Indian team. Konstas said, ‘Whatever happens on the field, stays on the field. I love competing and there can be no better place for debut than a stadium full of spectators.’
