Australian cricketer Marnus Labuschagne came on the radar of the critics due to his dismal form with the bat in the last few Test matches. However, Labuschagne answered his critics with a 64-run knock in the previous Test match in Adelaide and gave a sign that he is returning back to form. The Aussies ended up winning the match by a margin of ten wickets. Despite, Labuschagne’s desperate half-century, former Australian cricketer David Warner wasn’t satisfied with his knock and opened up about his dismissal after he was caught at gully off Nitish Kumar Reddy.
David Warner had said, “I’m still not convinced with Marnus. I don’t think that was anywhere near what we know he’s capable of. He might have got a couple out of the middle, got a couple of freebies, batted well that night to get through, but they bowled poorly. From that perspective, he had the best conditions to come out and bat in. But he got out the same way he always does when he gets over 50, hitting it straight to gully. There’s a lack of awareness there of what he’s got to be mindful of. I don’t think he’s anywhere near where he should be.”
Marnus Labuschagne Hits Back At David Warner
However, Marnus Labuschagne didn’t like David Warner’s statement on his dismissal and added that the former Australian opener must check out how many times has he got out at gully. Speaking to News Corp Labuschagne said, “I would like to see him check how many times I’ve been caught at gully, because apparently I get out there every week. I’ve looked back, and I can only remember being caught at gully twice. So I might have to have a look at Bull’s (Warner’s) comment there. But like I said, everyone’s here to write newspapers, write articles.”
The IND vs AUS 3rd Test will begin from 05:50 AM IST (Indian Standard Time) from December 14 at ‘The Gabba’.
