Manchester United Should Always Aim For Victory, Says Bruno Fernandes

Man United captain Bruno Fernandes says fans should always keep their hopes high, even though the team has been having a tough season, especially at home. Despite recent problems, Fernandes thinks the team must keep believing they can win. The Portuguese midfielder was key in their latest win, scoring a last-minute goal to beat Rangers 2-1, which puts them closer to reaching the next round of the Europa League. With United losing four of their last five home games, manager Ruben Amorim recently said this might be the worst team in the club’s history.

Fernandes Stresses The Importance Of Winning Mentality

Fernandes made it clear that winning should always be the goal at Man United, no matter how tough things are right now. In an interview with TNT Sports, he stressed that losing should never be seen as okay for the club or its fans. “At this club, you have to win every game. If you don’t, things will get hard, and tough times will come,” Fernandes said. He encouraged fans to keep their expectations high, saying United should always strive to win. A draw against FCSB next week should be enough to finish in the top eight of the Europa League and skip the playoff round—something manager Ruben Amorim wants to achieve so he can focus on improving the team’s tactics.

Aiming For Europa League Glory And Consistency

Even though qualifying right away is the main goal, Fernandes is also thinking about the bigger goal—winning the Europa League trophy in Bilbao this May. “Today was important because we want to reach the final,” he said, stressing the importance of finishing in the top eight to avoid extra games. United’s recent late victories, like Amad Diallo’s hat-trick comeback against Southampton, have shown their ability to fight back. However, Fernandes wants the team to be more consistent, asking them to keep up their energy throughout the entire match instead of relying on last-minute efforts. “We need to show our strength for the full 90 minutes, not just when things go wrong,” he added, highlighting the need for a stronger and more proactive approach.
