“As many Super Overs can be played until a winner is decided till one hour after the completion of the main match. The first Super Over has to start within 10 minutes of the main match finishing. Suppose the first Super Over is a tie. In that case, the subsequent Super Over must start five minutes after its completion as many Super Overs can be played until a winner is decided till one hour after the completion of the main match. The first Super Over has to start within 10 minutes of the main match finishing. If the first Super Over is a tie, then the subsequent Super Over must start five minutes after its completion.”

Rules listed by BCCI for the Super Over

  • A Super Over tiebreaker becomes relevant during cricket matches that end with no team victorious. Teams get a single over of six balls in the Super Over to determine the victory through scorecounting while wickets do not have any impact on the result. The team must stop batting when it loses two wickets because their innings immediately concludes.

The sequence of additional Super Overs will continue until one team wins after tied Super Overs occur. A tiebreaker begins 10 minutes after the final regular match ends either on the exact field if officials permit it or moves to a new location if they make such a decision.

The Super Over contest permits participation only from main match athletes and does not accommodate substitute or reserve players from any side. During the Super Over the team which played as the second batting lineup in the primary match takes the initial batting position. The teams get one permitted unsuccessful review permission.

Fielding teams obtain their bowling balls through umpire-supplied spare boxes and both teams maintain the right to use the same ball or pick another available choice. The fielding team uses standard over reacted field regulations while deciding the starting end of their bowling.

An interval of five minutes controls the sequence of bowling between the two teams. The Super Over can be finished through extra time when weather stops play as the timeframe extends by at least twenty minutes.
