As far as the squad is concerned, Punjab is lucky to have a full-strength bench available for selection. Flat length ball, Prabhsimran goes for the slog-sweep, miscues it in the air and Badoni does extremely well at the midwicket boundary to take the catch firstly and then to toss it towards the converging fielder before going over the ropes. The Ekana Cricket Stadium is known to produce bowler-friendly pitches. Tonight’s game will be played on a red-soil surface. Historically, the spinners have ruled the roost at this venue but the seamers can also expect some assistance especially with the new-ball. Batters do get value for their shots but they also need to show some application. We can expect a tough tussle between bat and ball. Both teams will be eyeing to keep their winning momentum intact but it all boils down to which side holds their nerves during crunch situations. Toss and team lineups will be announced shortly.
