Team India is playing against Australia in the second Test of the five-match series at the Adelaide Oval. The Indian team ended the Day 2 at 128/5 and currently trail by 29 runs in the second innings against the Aussies. The Indian batting lineup was totally exposed by the Australian pace attack led by Mitchell Starc. Team India batters didn’t have any clue against the Australian bowling attack and were dismissed cheaply with a poor shot selection. Apart from a lethal bowling performance, Travis Head led Australia’s charge with the bat and played an innings of 140 runs from 141 balls. Inexperience was properly seen in the Indian pace attack as Harshit Rana and Mohammed Siraj went for a lot runs and whole pressure was back to Jasprit Bumrah.
Ravi Shastri Backs Mohammed Shami’s Selection
Ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, many fans wanted Mohammed Shami to be picked for the tour however, BCCI was unsure about his fitness due to which he was left out. However, former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri wants BCCI to include Shami for the rest matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy so that the load can be shared between him and Jasprit Bumrah. Shastri said on-air as quoted by PTI, “The quicker Mohammed Shami reaches here, (the) better (it is) for India. He is playing a lot of domestic matches. You can see the pressure (on the opposition) when Bumrah is bowling and others are bowling. There is a lot of pressure on Bumrah.”
The Indian team has been put under a lot of trouble by Australia on Day 2 of the IND vs AUS 2nd Test. Team India needs a lot of hard work to make a comeback into the match wherein firstly, all the onus will be on overnight batters Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy. The duo’s main task will be to play out the Australian bowlers in the early session whereas later help the team gain a big lead to setup a big target for Australia in the second innings. However, at the present time, such things are only assumptions and looking impossible.
