New Delhi: Liverpool long-serving captain Jordan Henderson will hold talks with manager Jurgen Klopp within the next 24 hours after being offered a mammoth salary to move to the Saudi Pro League’s team Al-Ettifaq, who have not won the title for 36 years.

Henderson to reunite Liverpool’s teammate Steven Gerrard?

According to media report, Henderson has been offered an lucrative wage of £700,000 per week by the Knights of Ad-Dahna. That would quadruple his current salary, with Liverpool paying him around £190,000 per week.

Saudi’s club is desperate to sign him to make him their statement player, but Henderson is also vocal about the right of the LGBTQ+ community, which is still illegal in Saudi Arabia. But a potential move may stall over a transfer fee, with Liverpool set to demand a significant fee for their captain. Ettifaq may be reluctant to pay their asking price, though according to The Athletic, Henderson is ‘leaning towards’ accepting their offer.
