New Delhi: Argentina’s star forward Lionel Messi reached the landmark when he opened the scoring on 20 minutes against Curacao in Santiago del Estero on Tuesday, March 29. After that he went on scoring two more goals.

The World Cup winners beat the Caribbean side 7-0 in their second match since clinching the trophy in December.

Messi scored his first with a right-foot shot from the edge of the box to reach the 100-goal milestone. The 35-year-old then netted his second goal in the 33rd minute with a crossed shot to the right of the goalkeeper and his 102nd in the 37th after an easy run to score.
Before his third goal, Messi has assisted Enzo Fernandez’ blast from the edge of the box.

Messi’s international goals
Messi scored his 800th career goal – and 99th for Argentina – in a 2-0 win over Panama in Buenos Aires last week as part of the team’s World Cup homecoming tour.
Third highest goal scorer
Messi is only third player on the men’s all-time international scoring list behind Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo (122) and Iran’s Ali Daei (109).
