Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal became the target of social media trolling after he misspelled Kolkata Knight Riders while congratulating the franchise on their third IPL title.

On Sunday, KKR dominated Sunrisers Hyderabad with an 8-wicket victory in a one-sided final in Chennai, securing the title after a 10-year gap.

“Congratulations to IPL for winning 3rd KKR,” joked one user. Another wrote, “Winning to third KKL conhrjulation trophy.” A different user added, “KKL to congratulations on IPL third winning trophy. Lord Umar.” Someone commented, “Daru pike Twitter mat chalao bhai.” Another said, “KKR likhna sikh jaao pehle fir hashtag banana.” Lastly, a user remarked, “Bhai ye KKL kaunsi team hai? Lord Umar Akmal is being Umar Akmal.”

Mitchell Starc bowled a sensational opening spell to lead KKR to their third title. Kolkata bowled out Hyderabad for the lowest total in an IPL final, 113, with Australia’s left-arm quick Starc returning impressive figures of 2 for 14, living up to his top billing in the world’s most lucrative T20 tournament.

Kolkata’s batsmen had an easy task ahead of them. Despite Sunil Narine’s early departure, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who scored 39, and Venkatesh Iyer, who remained unbeaten on 52, guided the team to victory with 9.3 overs to spare, thanks to their 91-run partnership.
