Manan Sharma’s Career
Manan Sharma’s first came to spotlight in 2010 when he was picked for the Under-19 squad for the World Cup to be played in New Zealand.
He made first-class debut two years later. Pretty soon he became Delhi’s premier spinner finishing at the top as Ranji Trophy wicket-taker for two successive seasons, 2014-15 and 2015-16. He took 35 wickets across eight matches of that period and played a crucial role during Delhi’s super-strong campaign in 2015-16 after Pradeep Sangwan, they just missed knockout by one point.
Manan took career-best figures of 11 for 162 in a four-wicket win over Haryana. He remained in fine form in the Vijay Hazare 50-over tournament and the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 competition. The Kolkata Knight Riders acquired him for INR 10 lakh at the IPL auction in February 2016.
In 2021, Manan, son of former Indian cricketer Ajay Sharma announced his retirement from all forms of the game.
