India pulled off a miracle on Day 4 of IND vs AUS 3rd Test when they became successful in avoiding the follow-on courtesy of a majestic unbeaten 39-run partnership between Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep for the tenth wicket. The Indian team ended the Day 4 of IND vs AUS 3rd Test at 252/9 and currently trail by 193 runs from Australia’s first innings score. None of the top Indian batters including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal weren’t able to perform with the bat. On the other hand, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja played an innings of 84 and 77 runs respectively to put up some fight for the Indian team.

At one end, when nine wickets fell for 213 runs it looked like the Indian team will shortly walk into bat in the second innings. Indian batter KL Rahul who has been the highest run scorer for the Indian team in the first innings of IND vs AUS 3rd Test as of now, admitted that he was wearing his pads when the ninth wicket as he felt that he shall come out to bat again. However, Rahul praised the efforts from Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep while speaking in the press conference after the end of Day 4 of IND vs AUS 3rd Test.
KL Rahul said, “Yes, it’s very good to see when the lower-order chips in and scores runs. That’s something we discuss in our meetings. The bowlers work hard on their batting. It’s really good to see that they could go there and get that little partnership. Avoiding the follow-on makes a huge difference. Knowing that there’s a little bit rain around, we needed to find a way to stay in the game. Akash and Bumrah did that, and it was a great way to end the day for us.”
The IND vs AUS 3rd Test Day 5 will begin from 05:20 AM IST (Indian Standard Time) on December 18 at ‘The Gabba’ in Brisbane.
