Kolkata Knight Riders have won 3 trophy: 2012, 2014, and 2024.
Rajat Patidar will make his captaincy debut in the IPL this year after being appointed as RCB's captain on February 13. In January, LSG named Rishabh Pant as their captain, while Shreyas Iyer was appointed the new captain of Punjab Kings. Delhi Capitals and KKR are also set to introduce new captains for IPL 2025.

Former Indian opener and current head coach Gautam Gambhir was the first player to win IPL title as KKR captain. He achieved the feat during the 2012 season. In 2014, Gambhir won his second IPL title as KKR captain and in 2024, Shreyas Iyer led KKR to third title win.

Ajinkya Rahane was part of KKR in IPL 2022, and in seven matches for the Shreyas Iyer-led side, he scored 133 runs.
After being released by the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auctions, Ajinkya Rahane joined KKR for Rs 1.50 crore last year.
Kolkata Knight Riders will face Rajat Patidar’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the first match of IPL 2025 on Saturday, March 22. The match between the two teams is scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
