The past few years have been very tough for Afghanistan as far as the political problems are concerned in the country. Jonathan Trott became the head coach of the side when the team was going through a transition phase and senior players such as Asghar Afghan, Mohammed Shahzad and many more players were set for retirement and other player including Mohammad Nabi was in the last phase of his international career. Trott has produced many young talents in Afghanistan under his reign.
Afghanistan Cricket Board shared a statement on their official website, which read, “Hamid Hassan will step up and take on the role of Head Coach in Trott’s absence, and Nawroz Mangal, who recently helped the AfghanAbdalyan lineup to the Emerging Asia Cup glory, will serve as Assistant Head Coach during the series.”
After his extension as the head coach of Afghanistan, Jonathan Trott’s next examination will be tour of Zimbabwe. Trott willn’t be available for the Tests and T20Is due to personal reasons in the multi-format tour.
