Cody Rhodes shares his emotional thoughts

While attending the post-show event of Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cody Rhodes couldn’t hold back his feelings while commenting on the influence of Cena. He expressed,

“It’s really hard to describe, in the sense of all the positives he brought to our industry and leaving it better than we found it. Wrestling is, there’s a way it ends. He did everything right by the book.” He continued, “I’m not trying to get emotional on his night, but more than anything, take a moment and think about those sneakers, and the pump-ups before that, and the man that filled those, and what he was able to do through good and bad times.”

Rhodes not only acknowledged the fans’ response but also the vibe in the arena, stating he was “so happy that it happened” and that Cena set a “high bar” for everyone.

Triple H defends the booking decision

During the post-show, Triple H was the one who took to the audience to talk about Cena’s submission and gave reasons for the match to be that way. He recognised the fans’ discontent, saying

“I’m actually mildly disappointed. I thought it would be so much louder.”

“John has said the right thing his entire career that it is about leaving this place better than you found it. I think that there’s no way for people to understand that in the moment, but you do what is right for the business, you do what is right for this industry, John has done that his entire career, and I’m going to do that my entire career. What I will do what I believe is right for this business. It just is what it is. It’s part of what we do. That is the role we have chosen.” he said made it clear he stands by the decision, even if some fans struggle to understand it in the moment.
