Jay Shah, the Secretary of the BCCI, has been elected unopposed as the new Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and will officially assume the position on December 1, 2024. At 35 years old, Shah will be the youngest individual to lead the global cricket governing body.

Unopposed Nomination

Jay Shah was the sole nominee for the position after filing his nomination on the deadline day. His election follows the decision of the incumbent ICC chairman, Greg Barclay, to step down, having served in the role since 2020 and opting not to run for a third term.
