Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah dominated the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 with his stellar performance and picked up 32 wickets from five games. The latter was named the Player of the Series for his milestone, however, despite delivering such a wonderful performance, he couldn’t help Team India defend the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. On the other hand, Australian captain Pat Cummins led from the front and performed brilliantly in all the departments. From captaincy to bowling, Cummins was always there for his team whenever they needed him the most. Cummins picked up 25 wickets with the ball and scored 150 runs with the bat.

Jasprit Bumrah And Pat Cummins In Contention For ICC Player Of The Month Award
The International Cricket Council (ICC) have given the reward to both the player for their magnificent performances and are nominated for the ICC Player of the Month for December. Apart from Pat Cummins and Jasprit Bumrah, South Africa’s Dane Peterson is another nomination. Peterson picked up 16 wickets against Pakistan in the home Test series at an average of 16.92. This led to South Africa’s historic qualification for the World Test Championship final against Australia.

Jasprit Bumrah became the fastest Indian pacer to pick 200 wickets in Test cricket and broke Bishan Singh Bedi’s 47-year-old record of 31 wickets in an away Test series by an Indian. The latter sustained a back spasm during the first innings of the fifth Test and wasn’t able to bowl further in the match.
