Fans were left in astonishment when veteran Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik tied the knot with popular Pakistani actor Sana Javed. On January 20, Saturday, Malik shared a picture with Sana on his social media, captioning it: "And We created you in pairs." The unexpected news of Shoaib Malik's marriage to Sana Javed came as a surprise to many on social media, especially amid ongoing rumors about the cricketer's alleged separation from Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. Sania Mirza, who had married Shoaib Malik in 2010, had addressed divorce speculations earlier in the month through a cryptic post on social media.
Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik have chosen to stay silent and have not commented on the circulating rumors about their separation. There is no official confirmation regarding whether Malik and Mirza have officially divorced. The couple, who share a son named Izhan Mirza Malik, celebrated his fifth birthday last October. Prior to marrying Sania in 2010, Shoaib Malik had been in an eight-year marriage with Ayesha Siddiqui, starting in 2002.

Shoaib Malik is gearing up to participate in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as a part of the Karachi Kings. Although Malik has retired from Test and ODI cricket, he continues to play T20Is, even extending his career into his 40s. In the previous year, he expressed his intention to make a comeback to T20Is for Pakistan. His last appearance in the national colors was during the 2021 T20 World Cup held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
