Rishabh Pant has proved to be an absolute gem for the India national cricket team in the past few years. The latter known for his aggressive playing style and take on the bowlers from the first ball in the middle order is a rare quality seen in modern-day batters. Pant is currently part of the Indian team in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 series. The left-handed Indian wicket keeper batter has been through a lot tough times in the past few years. Pant suffered a brutal car accident in December 2022, after which he was ruled out of international cricket for almost 1.5 years. Pant has made a brilliant comeback to international cricket with brilliant centuries against Bangladesh.

Rishabh Pant has spent a lot of time under the eyes of Rahul Dravid. From his U19 days to the Indian cricket team, Dravid has monitored Pant very closely. While speaking to Star Sports, Dravid stated that Pant has been a very special cricketer and has taken Test cricket like a duck to water. He said, “What a special cricketer he’s been. He’s just taken to Test cricket like a duck to water. It’s just phenomenal. I mean, it’s hard to imagine that, after Dhoni left, you felt there might be some time for someone to come in and replace him. I’m not saying he’s replaced him, but certainly in Test cricket, his performances have been absolutely sensational.”

Rishabh Pant has played many heroic knocks in the red-ball format. However, Pant’s most remembered Test knock is of 89* during Team India’s historic victory over Australia at ‘The Gabba’ in 2020-21. The Indian team chased down the target of 328 runs while batting in the fourth innings and pulled off one of the highest chases on the Australian soil. Also, for the first time, the Australian team lost a match in Brisbane after a long gap of more than 30 years.
