India spinner Kuldeep Yadav gave a stinging reply to an abusive troll on social media platform X on Wednesday. Last year on November 19, India had lost to Australia by 6 wickets in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With November 19, 2024, marking one year since the shocking defeat in front of thousands of spectators, fans made several social media posts on the day. Indian fans heavily trolled several players including KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and others.
One X user @Manas263 felt that Kuldeep had escaped the online bashing. Criticising Kuldeep’s bowling performance in the final match, the troll questioned why he was not being insulted on social media on the anniversary of India’s defeat.

On X, the troll posted a picture of Kuldeep from the final match and gave it a distasteful title. In response to it, Kuldeep gave a stinging reply writing, “Hanji kis cheez ki dikkat hai apko , itna pyara likhne ke liye paise mile ya koi Jati dus mani hai (What problem do you have?, Have you received money for writing such lovely words or do you have some personal enmity?)”.

Notably, in the final of the 2023 World Cup, Kuldeep went wicketless and conceded 56 runs in 10 overs. As a tailender, he scored 10 off 18 balls.
Asked to bat first in that match, India were bowled out for 240 runs in 50 overs, with Rahul and Virat Kohli hitting half-centuries. In reply, Australia were under pressure at 47/3 in 7 overs but a brilliant partnership for the fourth wicket between Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne helped the team reach a total of 239 runs. By the time Head was dismissed in the 43rd over, Australia needed just 2 more runs to win. The winning runs were scored by Glenn Maxwell and Australia became World Champions.
