ICC Rankings: In a landmark development, two of Pakistan’s star cricketers have seen the most significant drop in their recent ICC Test Player Rankings while Pakistan is going through its worst phases.
Babar Azam’s ICC Rankings Drop
Babar Azam slipped down one place to the latest edition of ICC Test Batting Rankings, from 17 to 18. Babar has 670 rating points. The slide is not disastrous but is concerning since Babar Azam, considered one of the most reliable Pakistan performers, is experiencing such a decline at a time when a couple of underwhelming series do not meet his usually raised standards.
Agencies report that all-rounder Agha Salman also faced a severe fall in the ICC Test Rankings. He has fallen from the 17th to 20th position in the Test Batting Rankings and has managed 662 rating points. In several situations, he showed flashes of brilliance but was unable to continue with consistency.
The Dominance Of India In The ICC Rankings
The latest ICC rankings further underpin India’s rising supremacy with Yashasvi Jaiswal reaching a career-high second position in the Test Batting Rankings following his sublime 161 runs for India in Perth. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has advanced to 13th position with his unbeaten century for India in the ongoing Test series against Australia.
