All-rounder Axar Patel has been a part of Delhi Capitals since 2019. The team retained him for Rs 16.5 crore in the retention list released before the mega auction. With Rahul opting not to take the captaincy, Delhi now has a strong captaincy option in Axar. His experience could help end the team’s trophy drought.

No Option For DC
Delhi only has two captaincy options for IPL 2025. Either the management convinces Rahul to take the captaincy, or Axar Patel is given the responsibility.
