As per the former English skipper Michael Vaughan SRH bowling staff received criticism after a poor performance during the 18th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL)

As per the former English skipper Michael Vaughan SRH bowling staff received criticism after a poor performance during the 18th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL). SRH undertook a loss at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in the match against LSG when the team was led by Pat Cummins. SRH’s early-aggressive batting approach proved harmful against Rishabh Pant’s team so they suffered a complete defeat. SRH scored 190/9 in 20 overs but their bowlers were unable to halt Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh who resulted in LSG winning the match with 23 extra balls to spare.

Vaughan Warns SRH About Bowling Confidence On Batting-Friendly Pitches

After SRH lost the match to LSG, Michael Vaughan raised concerns about SRH’s bowlers losing confidence due to consistently playing on batting-friendly pitches. He highlighted how Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa, and Shami has been struggling in the first two matches, with because of their bowling being neutralized by flat pitches at Uppal. “They’ve got to be careful that the bowlers don’t lose confidence… because their bowlers are bowling on this road,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz. He added, “Zampa’s been destroyed, really, tonight. Shami’s gone at 12 today. So you’ve got to be careful.”

Vaughan Urges SRH To Balance Aggression With Smart Play

Vaughan shed light on the fact that SRH must adapt their batting approach instead of relying solely on an aggressive strategy. He suggested that smarter gameplay could have resulted in a higher total against LSG. Talking about the previous matches which were played by SRH’s against RR, in which they scored 286/6, he warned against sticking to just one style of play. “I’m yet to see a team with a major event playing just one style of cricket,” Vaughan said. He added, “They fell short because they were ultra-aggressive… If they played a little bit smarter, would they have got 220, 230?”
