In a remarkable Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final clash, Vidarbha successfully chased down 292 against Rajasthan, powered by outstanding unbeaten centuries from Karun Nair (122) and Dhruv Shorey (118). Captain Nair continued his exceptional form, scoring his fourth consecutive ton and fifth of the season, maintaining an incredible average of 664 runs, having been dismissed just once in six innings.

The chase was masterfully constructed, beginning with Shorey and Yash Rathod’s 92-run opening partnership. After Rathod’s departure, Nair joined Shorey to forge an unbroken 200-run stand. Nair’s aggressive 82-ball innings included 13 fours and five sixes, while Shorey’s 131-ball knock featured ten fours and three sixes.

Earlier, Rajasthan’s innings saw contributions from several batters, including a 71-run partnership between Mahipal Lomror and Deepak Hooda, followed by Shubham Garhwal’s 59 and Deepak Chahar’s quick-fire 31. Yash Thakur was Vidarbha’s standout bowler, claiming 4/39.
Vidarbha will now face Maharashtra in the second semi-final in Vadodara on January 16.
