KKR vs RCB: In a much-anticipated opening match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on March 22 where, the Bengaluru-franchise clinched the victory by 7 wickets at the Eden Gardens. Virat Kohli and Phil Salt laid the foundation in the run chase which paved the way for RCB. All-rounder Krunal Pandya won the “Player of the Match” award for his brilliant bowling spell.
Security Breach At Eden Gardens
One of the most eye-grabbing happened during the 2nd innings of yesterday’s match is that a fan managed to breach security and run onto the field, directly reaching Virat Kohli. In a heartwarming moment, the fan was seen hugging Kohli before security quickly intervened and escorted him off the field.

The pictures of this encounter have since gone viral on social media, showcasing the fan’s excitement and Kohli’s gracious response. This isn’t the first time a fan has reached Kohli during a match, as similar incidents have occurred before, including during a Ranji Trophy match.

Match Summary
RCB successfully chased down KKR’s total of 174/8, which was built on key contributions from Ajinkya Rahane (56) and Sunil Narine (44). Krunal Pandya was the standout bowler for RCB, taking 3 wickets and helping restrict KKR’s scoring. In reply, RCB reached the target with 22 balls to spare, thanks to strong performances from Virat Kohli (59*) and Phil Salt (56). KKR’s bowlers, including Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakraborty, and Sunil Narine, each claimed one wicket, but could not prevent RCB’s comfortable win. Krunal Pandya was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
