PBKS have now successfully defended the lowest score ever in IPL history.
IPL 2025: In what will be remembered as one of the most thrilling games in IPL history, Punjab Kings (PBKS) staged an amazing come-from-behind victory by defending the lowest ever score in the league successfully. The atmosphere at the PBKS bench and among the stands was simply electric—cheers, hugs, and utter shock as the underdog turned the game upside down.

Entering the second innings, everyone’s attention was on how soon Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) would overhaul the humble target. Early wickets provided PBKS with a ray of hope, sending both KKR openers cheaply. But Ajinkya Rahane and emerging talent Raghuvanshi put together a solid partnership, with Raghuvanshi playing some beautiful shots to keep KKR in the game.
The turning point was when Rahane, rather than reviewing a close LBW decision even though the ball pitched outside off, walked off—giving momentum firmly in the hands of PBKS. It was then a bowling masterclass. Yuzvendra Chahal, who had not had a good tournament, came up with a master spell, spinning a web around the KKR batsmen. He was ably assisted by Glenn Maxwell, Arshdeep Singh, and Marco Jansen, all of whom remained calm under pressure.
As PBKS won in a record comeback, KKR were left shocked—clearly heartbroken by a game that had got away from them. In defeat, however, Rahane did offer a dignified smile at the post-match handshake, the true sporting spirit.

Vaibhav Arora to Shashank Singh, out Lbw!! It's a good length ball angling back in, he gets forward to push it down the ground but is beaten on the inside edge.
