IPL 2025: The former West Indian legend, Dwayne Bravo (fondly known as DJ Bravo), has been roped in as a mentor by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor for the upcoming IPL 2025. The Kolkata-based franchise announced it on social media.
Retired From All Forms Of The Game
Bravo, the top T20 wicket-taker, also announced that he is retiring from all forms of the game after being forced to quit due to an injury.
The 40-year-old had retired from international cricket in 2018 before returning from retirement in 2019 and ensuring he was ready for the 2020 edition of the T20 World Cup. He rejoined his retirement again in 2021.

Venky Mysore, CEO of Knight Riders Group, shared his excitement about the appointment: “DJ Bravo joining us is an exciting development. His relentless drive to win, vast experience, and deep knowledge will greatly benefit our franchise and players. We’re also pleased that Bravo will be involved with our other franchises globally, including CPL, MLC, and ILT20.”
DJ Bravo also expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter: “I’ve been part of the Trinbago Knight Riders for the last 10 years in the CPL. Having played for and against the Knight Riders in various leagues, I have a lot of respect for how they operate. Bravo’s Illustrious IPL Career
Bravo has been part of Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. In 161 IPL matches, Bravo accumulated 1560 runs at a strike rate of 129.57 with 5 fifties and scalped 183 wickets with the best bowling figures of 4/22.
