Rinku Singh takes an incredible catch and Patidar goes back.
Looks like Captain Rajat Patidar wants to end the match as soon as possible.
RCB has dominated throughout and just needs 17 runs to win.
KING Kohli has hit a half-century in just 30 balls.
Not the dream start Padikkal wished for in the opening match of IPL 2025.
RCB are already on 100/1
Varun Chakaravarthy strikes and sends back Phil Salt.
Phil Salt hits a half-century. Its the 7th fifty of his IPL career and it has come in just 25 balls. He tossed up on off and Salt eases the drive past cover for a single to get this incredible milestone.
RCB definitely knows how to dominate. Its another FOUR by Virat Kohli. A proper wrist work and a core cricketing shot by King.
KKR will surely need time to discuss a strategy to stop RCB from chasing the target.
Spencer Johnson to Phil Salt. Its a FOUR! On the back of length just outside off. but Phil Salt waits for the ball to arrive and cuts it incredibly between backward point and short third for a boundary.
RCB is unstoppable! The opening pair has turned out to be dynamic for RCB.
Phil Salt has completely left his former team in ruins. and Virat Kohli from another end is unstoppable.
Virat Kohli has completely wrecked havoc with boundaries.
4,6,1,4,1,4- what an over for Kohli and Salt
Spencer Johnson to Phil Salt, FOUR, interestingly Spencer Johnson is not looking to swing the ball despite swing being available. Wobble seam slot ball, Salt creams the drive past cover for four. Wasn't a big gap but he hit that
Vaibhav Arora to Phil Salt, FOUR, Salt if off the mark in typical fashion! Great bit of inswing on that ball but if it's that full, Salt won't bother one bit. Just belted out a cover drive
From hopes of 230+, KKR come crashing down and finish with 174. Not often you commend RCB for their bowling but this is a mega comeback from them led by Krunal Pandya.
Hazlewood to Harshit Rana, out Caught by Jitesh Sharma!! Top edge so high, Jitesh calls for it, runs and goes near square leg to complete that catch. Short ball from Hazlewood, Harshit went for a big pull, complete mishit and Hazlewood gets the reward for fine bowling.
Yash Dayal to Angkrish Raghuvanshi, out Caught by Jitesh Sharma!! Edged and gone! Pacy short of length delivery angling away, Angkrish looks for a big leg-side slog, gets an outside edge and Jitesh gets his third catch of the day. Another important dent to KKR and their hopes of 190+ looks bleak now.
Yash Dayal to Ramandeep Singh, 1 run, short and wide with pace off, Ramandeep slaps it on the bounce to extra-cover. Just fell short of the diving Rajat
Hazlewood to Angkrish Raghuvanshi, SIX, to deep mid-wicket
Suyash Sharma to Russell, out Bowled!! Through him and timbaahh! This is why you bowl straight to Dre Russ as a leggie if you have a googly. It's tossed up, it's in the slot, it's the bowler's final over and it's the tease.
Krunal Pandya to Rinku Singh, out Bowled!! Bowled him! Another quicker delivery that rushes the LHB and it's shattered the castle. Rinku thought he could have a big pull shot, but he misses it completely. Again it skids under the bat and probably didn't bounce as expected. Krunal Pandya keeps it wicket it to wicket for you miss
Livingstone to Rinku Singh, FOUR, short, hit me ball and Rinku punishes off the back foot wide of long-on. Sat up to be hit and Rinku placed it nicely in the gap
Bowled by Krunal Pandya, out Bowled!! And he's knocked him over next ball. Venky immediately put his helmet on. Krunal now just tries to fire
Suyash Sharma to Venkatesh Iyer, FOUR, control has been the problem for Suyash Sharma today. An absolute hit me out of sight ball - short and down leg. Fine leg was up too so Venky rocked back, swivelled and pulled the ball easily over the infield. Wanted a six but it bounced just inside
Krunal Pandya to Rahane, out Caught by Rasikh Salam!! That is straight down the throat of the fielder down at deep backward square leg. Deliberately short and leg-sidish with a deep backward square leg in place. Jinks has got a lot of runs in that area so he doesn't resist. Goes for the pull but hits it flat and straight to the man.
Rasikh Salam to Narine, out Caught by Jitesh Sharma!! Rasikh Salam has the last laugh as he screams "come onnnnnn" in celebration. 132ks short ball outside off stump.
Suyash Sharma to Rahane, SIX, that was juicy and Rahane does not miss out. Quicker and fuller outside off, Rahane sinks to one knee and dispatches it into the mid-wicket orbit for a mighty maximum. Rahane has a fifty on his debut as KKR skipper.
Suyash Sharma to Rahane, 1 run, Suyash Sharma got away with that. Short and quick outside off, Rahane chips the loft and gets it to the left of the fielder at long-off. Good comeback from Suyash after getting hit for a boundary second ball of the over...
KKR lost de Kock 5th ball of the innings, but the duo of Rahane and Narine did not stop trying their best to boost the powerplay. They did have some luck (through edges), but RCB bowlers (barring Hazlewood) helped their cause by spraying it all over the place, especially to a class batter like Rahane. The surface looks like a belter and anything under 190 could be really tough to defend.
Yash Dayal to Narine, FOUR, that went like a tracer bullet....as Ravi Shaz would have said. 132ks full and angled into the pads, Narine whips and puts it in the gap between mid-on and mid-wicket. The pace of Yash Dayal takes care of the rest
Krunal Pandya to Narine, SIX, Narine says don't worry I will take care of Krunal. Touch fuller and faster outside off, Narine clears his front leg and smokes it for an 89-metre maximum over wide long-on
Rasikh Salam to Rahane, SIX, it continues to get better for the KKR skipper. He is toying with some ordinary bowling here. 130ks nothing delivery outside off, sits up perfectly for Rahane who tonks it for a 92-metre maximum over cow corner
Rasikh Salam to Rahane, FOUR, that is a gimme and Rahane helps himself to his first boundary. Length delivery slipping down the leg-side, Rahane swings hard and gets good contact to get it racing to the fine leg fence
Hazlewood to Narine, FOUR, one bounce and over the ropes! 133ks bumper just outside off, Narine takes his eyes off the ball and swings leg-side, the attempted pull takes the top-edge and flies over the keeper for Narine's first boundary
Yash Dayal to Narine, 1 run, cramped for room this time around. 134ks skiddy length delivery angled into the left-hander, Narine swivels and mistimes the pull to the left of mid-wicket
Hazlewood to de Kock, out Caught by Jitesh Sharma!! Quinton de Kock is gone? The 4th umpire asks de Kock to wait. Is that a c lean catch? Yes
Hazlewood to de Kock, no run, Suyash Sharma drops a dolly. The decibels go up at the Eden Gardens. Banged in short outside off, Quinton de Kock pulls and gets a massive top-edge that goes high into the air on the leg-side. Mid-wicket Suyash had all the time in the world to settle under that, he was right under it but couldn't lock his palms. Nerves?
Hazlewood to de Kock, FOUR, first boundary of IPL 2025. 132ks width on offer
de Kock and Narine are at the crease
Patidar calls heads and it has come down as heads

Now it is the turn of Karan Aujla to entertain the crowd. Lungi Ngidi and Jacob Bethell are sat next to each other, in the RCB dugout, watching the opening ceremony.
