The inaugural IPL champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) suffered another nail-bitter defeat on Thursday in IPL 2025 in the hands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 11 runs.
RR has won only 2 out of the 9 matches played so far and is currently at the second last of the points table. After this defeat, RR is almost out of the playoff race. How RR Can Qualify For Playoffs
The inaugural champions are having a dismal season. RR has lost 7 out of 9 matches so far. However, they still have a mathematical chance of reaching the playoffs. Rajasthan has 5 matches remaining. If they win all of them, they will finish with 14 points, a total that could potentially take them to the playoff stage.
However, just winning the remaining matches will not be enough. Even with 14 points, RR will need a significant improvement in their Net Run Rate (NRR) and must also rely on the results of other teams. For RR to qualify, at least one of the current top-four teams must finish with 14 points or fewer. In short, RR’s qualification hopes depend not only on their own performance but also on the outcomes of other matches.

Rajasthan is going to face Gujarat Titans in Jaipur on April 28. This battle will also be crucial for the home side and would like to win the game.
