Huge Setback For BCCI
The Indian government has made a significant decision, imposing a ban on the display of tobacco and alcohol advertisements during IPL 2025. This means that such ads won’t be allowed in stadiums either. This could result in major financial losses for the BCCI, as these ads are a key source of revenue.
The first match of the new season will be on March 22, where Kolkata Knight Riders will face Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens. The final match will be held in May. Fans are excited to see who will emerge as the new champion, with Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals being the strong contenders.
Major Changes In IPL Teams
The mega auction has led to big changes in many teams. Some franchises have even changed their captains. Lucknow Super Giants have handed the captaincy to Rishabh Pant, while the defending champions, KKR, have appointed Ajinkya Rahane as their new captain. Punjab Kings will be led by Shreyas Iyer, and RCB has chosen young Rajat Patidar to captain the side. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals have yet to announce their captain, with the race between Axar Patel and KL Rahul still up in the air.
