This makes Rahane the 9th KKR skipper in 18 seasons.

The Story Of Ajinkya Rahane
Ajinkya Rahane had a humble start to the IPL:
2008-10
The young Rahane was signed by the Mumbai Indians and played just 10 games for his first franchise in 3-seasons.
2011-15
After his stint in Mumbai Indians, Rahane was bought by Rajasthan Royals in 2011 Mega Auction. The change in franchise made his career at boom in the format as he amassed 2047 runs in 71 matches with 15 fifties and also struck his first-ever IPL hundred.
2016-17
Rahane had joined the Rising Pune SuperGiants (Now Defunct) for 2016 and 2017 editions of the IPL due to the suspension of Rajasthan Royals.
2018-19
After the ban lifted, the Rajasthan-based franchise yet again bought back Ajinkya Rahane and named him captain of the side. He captained for 24 matches.
2020-22
During this period, Rahane played a total of 18 matches for Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.
2023-24
Rahane was bought by Chennai Super Kings, where he played a pivotal role in CSK’s 5th Title win. He scored at a strike rate of 170+.
