India’s talisman has returned to action and in some fashion. The Indian Premier League opener saw Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Virat Kohli return to cricketing action and take the Chennai Super Kings bowlers for a ride at Chepauk.

Having completed 16 years with the Bengaluru franchise, Virat went on to reach two mega milestones at Chepauk as his innings began on the night.

Virat Kohli Reaches Big Milestones

Virat Kohli has now completed 1,000 runs against MS Dhoni’s Chennai in the IPL. Kohli became only the 2nd batter to score 1,000 runs against two different opponents in the league.

If that stat wasn’t enough for the fans, Virat Kohli also went on to become the first-ever Indian batter to reach 12,000 runs in T20 cricket as well. Reaching this milestone is not as easy as it sounds and shows how Kohli has been in the IPL over the years.

Virat Kohli has had an IPL career to remember so far, having scored more than 7000 runs over the years, he has been RCB and IPL’s most prolific run-getter over 16 years.

T20 World Cup 2024

With the T20 World Cup 2024 on his mind, Virat will try and make sure to shut all his critics down in terms of his place in the Indian team. BCCI selectors will have an eye on Kohli, considering he is coming off a slight break from cricketing action because of the birth of his son recently.

However, Kohli won’t be worried about the same and will be focused to try and win a maiden IPL title with his side this year.
