Batting first, GT opener Wriddhiman Saha didn’t look settled at any given point in his innings and lost his wicket cheaply courtesy of a Kagiso Rabada delivery in the 3rd over.

Captain Gill To the Rescue

Kane Williamson’s return to action after an injury spell made the home fans excited but the Kiwi skipper could only manage to score 26 runs on his return. It was skipper Shubman Gill who led his side with a blazing knock in the middle.

His 48-ball 89 consisted of 6 fours and 4 sixes. His knock was also supported by a fiery knock from the in-form Sai Sudharshan (33) took GT to a respectable total in their 20 overs.

Punjab bowlers didn’t get much out of the pitch and tried to apply pressure through their fielding as well.
