The schedule for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been announced today, with MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the season opener of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). IPL announced the fixtures for the first 21 matches today.

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal mentioned that only the schedule for the first 21 days will be released initially, as the tournament dates coincide with the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. It’s anticipated that the Delhi Capitals may have to relocate their first two home matches from the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The IPL is set to kick off on March 22 in Chennai.

During this timeframe, there will be four instances of double-header matches. Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals will kick off the first afternoon fixture of the season on March 23 in Mohali, while Kolkata Knight Riders will commence their season at home against Sunrisers Hyderabad on the same day. Additionally, Rajasthan Royals will initiate their season at home against Lucknow Super Giants on the first Sunday of the season.

The BCCI is anticipated to unveil the rest of the schedule following the announcement of the General Election dates by the Election Commission of India.
