Rajasthan Royals got their 4th win on the trot in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) as Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler took RR to a cruising 6-wicket victory against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 19 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on April 6. The win took Rajasthan to the top of the table above Kolkata Knight Riders.

Virat’s Century Goes In Vain
Put to bat first, RCB openers Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli took RCB to 53/0 in the powerplay which gave the fans some hope for the rest of the innings as well.

However, after losing captain Faf du Plessis in the 14th over, Kohli assumed responsibility for guiding RCB through their innings. Finishing with his joint-highest score of 113* in the 1st innings, Kohli scored the first century of this season’s IPL. He reached his century in just 67 balls, hitting 4 sixes and 9 fours in the process.
Kohli demonstrated his ability to hit powerful shots all around the field, helping RCB reach a total of 183/3 in their allotted 20 overs.
Samson-Buttler Go Beast Mode
In reply, Rajasthan got off to the worst possible start in the chase, losing Yashasvi Jaiswal on a duck. However, the wicket was pretty soon forgotten by the Rajasthan fans as both skipper Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler wreaked havoc on the RCB bowlers throughout the innings.
Samson’s 42-ball 69 was complimented by Buttler’s fiery 100* on the night. Playing his 100th match in the IPL, Buttler would have been relieved as he found his stride after 3 matches in the IPL.
Riyan Parag (4) didn’t have to rescue RR this time as Buttler steered the home side to their 4th victory on the night with his 6th IPL century. His century came on the match-winning ball as he completed the feat in just 58 balls, hitting 9 boundaries and 4 sixes.
